Matt Heaton becomes the tenth player to commit to the club ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the re-signing of Matt Heaton, who joins a growing list of players signed up for next season. The Canadian international has been an integral part of the squad this season, starting a total of 17 games for the Mowden Park side. Director of Rugby Danny Brown said: “Matt has been great for us this year. Despite having to juggle work, his international calendar and DMP, Matt has proven his worth on the pitch. His work rate and desire to improve all parts of his game is infectious; he has certainly made a difference and we look forward to Matt being with us next season.”

The 24 year old back row has amassed 5 Caps for Canada after his debut against Japan last June, and most recently represented his country against Samoa in November. Heaton will enter his second season with the club, and was excited at the prospects for next season: "I'm happy to sign with Mowden again for next season. I've come a long way as a player since joining the club and I feel I will continue to improve next season."

With more announcements to come, fans can see Matt and the rest of the players in action in Saturday’s game against league leaders Hartpury College.
