Largest Haka World Record attempt is unsuccessful.

Darlington Mowden Park have sadly been unsuccessful in breaking the current world record for the largest Haka.

Mowden Park are disappointed with this result, however as a club we feel it was a fantastic opportunity for young people (and school staff) to be linked to an event with welcoming the current world champions the New Zealand All Blacks to Darlington for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup in October 2015.

Mowden Park would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the event from schools, Darlington Borough Council, Shutter Press, Northern Echo, Darlington College and huge thanks to Corey Baker Dance for their choreography and support throughout the project.

Anne Rose, Community Manager at Darlington Mowden Park said: "This isn’t the result we were hoping for, however, I’m sure everyone will all agree that the event was a fantastic opportunity for young people - and school staff - to be part of an event linked with welcoming the current World Champions, the New Zealand All Blacks, to Darlington for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup."

To thank everyone's hard work within the schools we will be issuing schools with free tickets for the number of children and staff who took part, for Mowden Park's 1st XV upcoming games which start in September. We would love if you could join us in enjoying a Mowden Park home game supporting the 1st XV team in their second season in National league one.
