Mowden Park are proud to announce that David Shenas will make his 1st XV debut this weekend, named on the bench to face Hull Ionians
Stepping up this week from our 2nd XV, David arrives in the squad with an impressive rugby CV. As a youngster, he represented London & South East U18s before earning opportunities in the academies at London Irish & Wasps RFC.
After his time in the academy system, David continued his development with Rosslyn Park, competing in one of England's most demanding rugby environments. His move to he North East came through his studies at Newcastle University, where he combined academic life with his rugby ambitions. Since joining Mowden at the beginning of the season he has been a standout performer in the 2nd XV.
Across 9 appearances this season, Shenas has amassed an impressive 51 points, including 3 tries, consistently leading from the front and controlling the games with maturity beyond his years.
2nd Team Coach Matthew Cuckson praised his impact:
"David has been outstanding for the second team. Bringing that experience to the game and leading from the front. He's always talking and helping others in the game. He is a privilege to coach and highly valued within the squad. It's great to see him step up into the 1st team."
Everyone at Mowden congratulates David on a thoroughly deserved debut and looks forward to seeing him in this next step in his rugby journey.
