Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce that Joe Craggs has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2022/23 season. Having recently brought up 150 appearances for the club, Craggs will go into his eighth full season with the 1st XV. Asked about extending his stay at DMP, the 25 year-old commented: “I’m looking forward to the new season and getting back together with the squad. After a difficult year last year off the back of covid and some poor performances it’ll be good to get stuck into a new season.”
Craggs has been an integral part of the squad since his debut in 2015, missing only a handful of games in recent seasons. The DMP forward’s consistent performances last year saw him awarded Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year at the club’s End of Season Awards in May.
Asked about the importance of Craggs to the wider squad, DMP Forwards Coach Joe Cain added: “Joe has been a huge part of the club for a long time now, and it’s great to see him re-sign for another season. He’s a very talented rugby player and a proper leader on the pitch.”
“It’s great to see home grown talent continue to play for DMP and something we are very eager to continue as a club.”
