Taylor and Jamieson Join Coaching Group For 2019/20

Darlington Mowden Park Sharks are pleased to confirm their coaching team for the upcoming 2019/20 season. Head of Programmes Justin Loveridge will be joined by Tamara Taylor, who will take on the role of Co-Head Coach alongside her ongoing playing commitments. The Sharks Development side will once again be coached by Phil Wallis, who will be joined this season by former Sharks player Sam Jamieson who returns to the club for 2019/20.

Asked about the new management setup, Loveridge commented: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Tamara and Sam into the coaching team this year. They will both bring a wealth of experience to the group and they know the Sharks setup inside out from years at the club. I look forward to them both working with myself and Phil to drive our standards both on and off the field.”

New Co-Head Coach Tamara Taylor was equally pleased to be joining the coaching team: "I'm really looking forward to being able to support and develop this group of players alongside a brilliant management team. Mike Umaga did some good stuff with us when we first started out in the league and we are hoping to continue to push on and really start getting this squad to show its potential.”

Asked about what fellow incoming coach Sam Jamieson would bring to the group, Taylor added: “It's great to have another female ex-player involved in our coaching set up and I know Sam will bring a lot of detail and passion to the group. I'm looking forward to being able to make a positive impact on and off the pitch as a player coach.”

The Sharks kick off their 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season on Saturday when they travel to Loughborough Lightning. Stay tuned for more on this weekend’s Season Opener including squad information and team news.
