Darlington Mowden Park are thrilled to announce the signing of forward George Shannon ahead of the 2021/22 National One season. Shannon joins from Scottish Super 6 side Boroughmuir, having previously played for Guernsey Raiders and London Scottish. Asked about his switch to the North East side, Shannon commented: "This season has been a long time coming and I cannot wait to run out for DMP and play in the hoops!"

Having featured predominantly in the back row for National 2 South side Guernsey, Shannon has since switched to hooker and offers versatility in the pack. Asked about his latest signing, DMP Director of Rugby Garry Law added: "Looking forward to having George on board. He is really hungry to test himself at National 1. Having played his early rugby mostly in the backrow he is now really looking to push on with his front row play and see how far he can go. I'm sure we will see lots of George this coming season and hopefully we can help him progress just as much as we want to also as a team."
