1st XV Captain Ollie Hodgson set to make 100th appearance on Saturday when Mowden take on Plymouth Albion (3pm Kick Off).

Currently sitting on 99 1st XV appearances for the club, captain Ollie Hodgson is set to bring up his century this weekend against Plymouth. The back-row has been involved in every game so far this season, and Hodgson was pleased to be making his 100th appearance: "It’s good to reach 100 games for Mowden. It has taken me a while due to the injuries I have had but I’ve had plenty of fun and met some great lads over the years."

Asked about his highlights from his 99 games so far, the 24 year-old added: "My first season getting promoted to National 1 is up there but the 17/18 season when we finished 2nd was a great year. Winning a few games in the lost dying minutes along with the celebrations afterwards."

Hodgson made his 1st XV debut back in September 2013, in a 48-21 win over Bromsgrove at the Arena. Asked about his memories from his first appearance, Hodgson said:"I can’t remember a great deal to be honest. I remember my first try for Mowden. Danny Brown got subbed on and made a break but didn’t have the legs to finish it and he got dragged down 1m short. I picked it up and dotted it down for him. Think there might even be a YouTube video on it!"

Looking ahead to the future, the number 8 added: "My goals personally are to remain fit and stay in the team regularly. For the team we need to focus on our selves and play to our strengths which will bring results and help us climb back up the table."

Mowden Park's Director of Rugby Danny Brown added: "Congratulations to Ollie on reaching 100 appearances for the club. It's a fantastic achievement especially considering his bad luck with injuries, I'm sure he'd be on over 200 by now if he'd have stayed fit! We look forward to many more appearances from Ollie in years to come."

You can see Ollie make his 100th appearance on Saturday as DMP take on Plymouth Albion in a 3pm kick off. Tickets are available on the day priced at £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and FREE for U16s.
