Mowden Park in the Community is delighted to commence enrollment for the Duke of Edinburgh Award for the coming year, starting in September 2018.

Mowden Park in the Community has been delivering the programme since 2015 and is committed to supporting young people develop their skills and experiences through the various opportunities on offer through the DofE programme.

Young people aged 14 – 25 years (*young people can start the award at age 13.5 years) can participate in the programme through the various levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. To complete the Awards, young people will need to complete activities in four sections – volunteering, skill, physical and expedition. For those completing the Gold Award, there is an additional section – residential.

The young people will be supported through the Award by staff at Mowden Park, who can provide advice and signpost ways in which the sections can be completed. The expedition element of the Awards is delivered by our partners, Outdoor Ambition, specialists in delivering outdoor activity.

An information evening will be held on Tuesday 4th September, 6pm at Mowden Park RFC. The evening will consist of a presentation, detailing the programme and what’s involved and the opportunity for young people or parents to ask any questions. Enrolment on to the programme will also take place at this information evening.
