An exciting programme of cluster fixtures, the first of which was the Ryton event on 20th October, aims to ensure that there are opportunities for any girl who wants to play rugby,to have a chance to do so this season. The first cluster opportunity drew girls at all age groups - U13, U15 and U18, from clubs in Northumberland, Cumbria and Durham. At U15, all girls pooled together to form 2 teams for a great afternoon of rugby. Mowden was represented by Chloe Hoggart and Olivia Rowe. However, team loyalties went out of the window for the afternoon as all the girls got stuck in, relishing the opportunity for any chance to play a competitive match.

Many clubs in the area have attracted new players over the closed season, and are currently developing their skills and confidence. We can look forward to even greater numbers in the coming months - a promising time for girls rugby. Next cluster event is a real showcase at the Falcons on 10th November.
