Worcester Valkyries 12-27 DMP Sharks

Sharks take maximum points from their final Premier 15s game of the season!

DMP Sharks ended their season on a high with a bonus point win over Worcester Valkyries at Sixways. Tries from Kat Hobson, Kat Hobson, Lisa Martin, Rachel Woosey, Elle Bloor and Claudia Macdonald ensured the Sharks recorded their 4th win of the Premier 15s season, finishing in 8th spot.

After an end to end opening, Kat Hobson opened the scoring after latching on to a Lisa Martin cross-field kick, dotting down well win the corner. The hosts responded well however and leveled the scores through Sian Moore, the scrum half getting on the end of a quick tap and go. Lisa Martin restored the Sharks lead soon after though, in an important spell for the visitors. The Scottish captain added to her assist with a well taken try after 30 minutes, before Rachel Woosey showed her speed to cross in the corner just before the half. The 2 quickfire tries gave the Sharks a 5-15 lead at the break.

Worcester started the second half brightly and the Sharks were soon reduced to 14 following a yellow card for Martin. The Sharks defended brilliantly and prevented any score despite the 1 player advantage. The Valkyries eventually scored their second try through Lark Davies, setting up a nervy final 10 minutes for the visitors. Her try was converted well by Zoe Bennison, narrowing the deficit to 3. The Sharks put the game to bed soon after though, after Lauren Leatherland was yellow-carded for a deliberate knock-on. Elle Bloor crossed for the bonus point try soon after, before Claudia Macdonald recorded her 10th try of the season to round off the victory. Lisa Martin Was awarded player of the match following a strong all round performance.
