DMP Sharks have named a strong squad for their game against Bristol Ladies.

Red Roses Heather Kerr, Tamara Taylor, Jo Brown and Katy Daley-McLean all return to the starting lineup following England’s 3 test series against Canada. Scotland captain Lisa Martin also returns to the squad and starts at 9, while Georgina Roberts returns having represented the Barbarians in Ireland. Roberts partners Rachel Woosey in the centres, with the latter recently having been called up to England’s EPS squad. An unchanged back 3 of Dewar, Macdonald and Thomas completes the backs.

In the forwards, Red Rose Heather Kerr is joined by Elle Bloor and Amy Needham in the front row. Sarah Bush returns to start alongside Tamara Taylor in the second row, whilst the back row is made up of Jo Brown, Kat Hobson and Rianna Manson. Club captain Ruth Nash starts on the bench, alongside Fi Davidson and Hannah Morton who both return from injury.

Sharks Head of Programme Justin Loveridge was pleased to be naming such a strong squad: “We’re happy to have a number of the England girls back after a successful Autumn International campaign against Canada. They bring a wealth of experience to the group and it’s fantastic to have them back in the squad. Georgina Roberts is also back following her appearance for the Barbarians, in what was a wonderful experience for her.
We’re pleased to welcome back Fi Davidson who has been out with injury for a while now, it’s great to have her back in the fold, as well as Hannah Morton who has been out since week 2.”

Saturday’s opposition Bristol currently sit 4 points ahead of the Sharks, having won 3 of their opening 8 games. Wins over Gloucester-Hartpury, Firwood Waterloo and Worcester have left them 2 places above the Sharks, and Loveridge was expecting a stiff test: “Bristol will provide tough opposition on Saturday. They’ve been playing at the top level for a number of years now and were beaten finalists last season. We’re expecting a physical encounter, and we’ll have to be on our game to meet the challenge.”
