DMP Sharks are looking for a dynamic Head Coach to lead an established programme of elite women’s rugby union.

This is an exciting development for the club as we continue to progress the Sharks programme. Shifting this role to full time will allow us to move further forward as a club and further develop our women’s rugby pathway.
- Justin Loveridge - DMP Sharks Head of Programme

Darlington Mowden Park have an opening for a full time Head Coach to work as part of the Sharks coaching team. This is an evolution of the previous part time role, as the club continues to develop their women’s rugby programme going forward.

DMP Sharks Head of Programme Justin Loveridge commented: “This is an exciting development for the club as we continue to progress the Sharks programme. Shifting this role to full time will allow us to move further forward as a club and further develop our women’s rugby pathway.”

“I’d like to personally thank our current Head Coach Mike Umaga for all of his hard work and commitment over the last 2 years to establish the Sharks in the Premier 15s competition. Unfortunately other rugby commitments will prevent him from continuing the role full time, and on behalf of the club I’d like to wish Mike the very best for the future.”

This new exciting role will see the Head Coach work alongside the Sharks Head of Programme and Mowden Park’s Director of Rugby

The successful candidate will be an experienced coach who can demonstrate a vision and character synonymous with the Sharks ethos. They will place player welfare at the centre of the programme development and will be an excellent people manager.

The Sharks squad is made up of dedicated players from across the North of England; including players from Tyne & Wear, Co Durham, Teesside, Cumbria and Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of an elite 1st XV and for overseeing the pathway from the Centre of Excellence, Sharks Development Squad and the wider networks.

The closing date for applications for this role is Thursday 18th April. For information and how to apply, please download the full job description via the link below.
