Second half Sharks comeback not enough to overcome table toppers Harlequins

DMP Sharks were beaten by top of the table Harlequins at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday. The league leaders were impressive throughout and started strongly through early tries from Wooden and Cornborough. Wooden scored her second shortly after, giving Quins a commanding first half lead. Another try from Jessica Breach gave the hosts a 31-0 half time lead.

The Sharks started the second half brightly, with replacement Elle Bloor dotting down after 42 minutes. Captain Kat Hobson crossed for a well worked try soon after, and it seemed the Sharks may have been on their way to a second comeback in the space of a week. Harlequins had the final say however, with Laura Dowsett scoring a late try to secure a 36-10 victory.
