A well deserved win against Hartlepool Rovers..

Mowden 15 - Hartlepool Rovers 5
Great display by the boys this morning - a tough game, and a well deserved victory - plus some entertainment on the touchline!!
After going a try behind after a fairly even opening period, the boys responded well, kept their heads up, and continued to play the better rugby.
For long periods we really dominated the forward exchanges, both in the set piece and open play. We have worked hard on picking up and driving, and we saw some great examples of this, with Simon really getting the bit between his teeth and driving on well. The support was also much much better today, which meant that our players weren't isolated so we kept the ball and recycled it well. One of our tries came after we controlled the ball for about 5 phases, which was excellent and showed great discipline.
Well done to our three try scorers - Matthew Wray, Josh Human and Dan Sanderson. All three were well worked and as a result of good support play.
It was clear that James Allison has had Neil out in the garden prtactising, as the line out throwing was excellent, and more often than not hit the intended spot.
Callum at full back was very solid today, catching everything that came his way, whether running back or forwards on to it.
Tackling was much better too, with Sam, Tom and Matthew Wray stopping anything that came round the fringes of the scrum, and Josh making some big hits, with one that saved a certain try near the start of the match.
We have access to Abbey Fields this week, and will train there on Wednesday between 4.00 and 5.30 whilst it is still light. Please try and get there if you can.
At present, we do not have a match next Sunday, but have Billingham the week after. If we can get a fixture for Sunday, we will let you know asap.
Many thanks. Please let me know whether you have any thoughts/comments
