Jack Blakeney-Edwards joins the DMP squad ahead of the upcoming National One season.

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Blakeney-Edwards from Otley RFC. The ex-Falcons academy back has been training with the squad during pre-season and will be available for tomorrow’s game against Heriot’s (2pm Kick Off). DMP Player-Coach Garry Law was delighted with yet another addition to a strong Mowden back division: “It’s great to have a player of Jack’s versatility in the squad. Jack played in a couple of 7s tournaments on recommendation from new forwards coach Mark Luffman and impressed us enough to bring him into our squad for this season. From what we've seen so far Jack is what you call a natural ball player; he has a really good all round skill set and like I said previously he can easily adapt to a few positions. Jack will be a valuable member of our squad this season.”

A utility back who can cover most positions in the back line, Blakeney-Edwards was happy to be joining the Mowden set up: "I am really excited to have signed with DMP and I look forward to the challenge which comes with playing in this league. I've enjoyed pre-season and I'm looking forward to getting on the field now." The 21 year-old is part of DMP's squad to face Heriot's that will be announced shortly.

Fans can see Jack in action in tomorrow’s pre-season game against Heriot’s at The Northern Echo Arena for just £2, more info on the game can be found here
