Player/Coach Garry Law reflects on a hard fought away win on Saturday.

Mowden Park maintained their second place in the National One standings with a narrow win against Fylde. A late Shaun McCartney secured 4 points for the visitors after a tight game at the Woodlands Memorial Ground. DMP Player/Coach Garry Law was pleased to have taken the points from such a tough encounter: "We're happy and relieved to come away with the win at Fylde. They are always a hard and competitive side who can cause any team problems, and I fully expect them to drag themselves up the table soon." The hosts had came into Saturday's game on the back of an impressive win over Bishop's Stortford in Round 13.

Saturday was DMP's lowest scoring game of the season, and Law was disappointed with the error count from the visitors: "We spoke about being accurate going into the game as to not allow Fylde to capitalise on any mistakes, whilst this didn't happen in the scoring sense we do feel we fell short of where this needed to be and kept gifting them field position."

Fylde's only try of the game came through winger Tom Grimes from a well executed cross field kick. "Defence wise, we knew Fylde would try and play from anywhere and throw in off loads and chip kicks to mix things up. On the whole we dealt with this fairly well which helped keep us in the game."

Looking ahead to Saturday's crunch game against Coventry, Law said: "After 2 close tough games in as many weeks, there is obviously some sore bodies and it doesn't get any easier with league leaders and National One favourites Coventry coming to the Arena. We are putting together our homework on Coventry and hope to come up with a way to halt their current procession to the Nat 1 title."

Match tickets for Saturday's top of the table clash are available on the day from both the CrossBar and the South West Turnstiles. Tickets for the double header will be priced at just £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and as always, kids go FREE. Fans only attending the second game can see the Sharks in action for £2, with kids once again going free.
