GUEST SPEAKER - SCOTLAND AND BRITISH LION DODDIE WEIR

DMPRFC are proud to welcome Doddie Weir to Yiewsley Drive.

He moved to Melrose RFC in the Borders and was part of the team that won six Scottish club championships.

Doddie was first capped for Scotland against Argentina in 1990. He suffered a horrific knee injury as a result of foul play while playing for the British Lions against Mpumalanga Province in the 1997 South African tour.

He fought his way back from injury and went on to be one of the most popular and respected players in the game.

Doddie won 61 Scottish caps and also played for Newcastle Falcons. He finished his playing career together with Gary Armstrong at The Borders in 2004. He is now a manager for Hutchison, a water waste company.
