Darlington Mowden Park are pleased to announce their pre-season schedule ahead of the 2017/18 National One season. Pre-season training for the 1st XV is now in full swing, having begun at the start of July. The pre-season fixtures get underway with Team Luke’s Dawn Til Dusk event on Saturday 12th August. Teams from around the region will play fixtures at the Arena throughout the day, starting at 8am and finishing at 8pm. The day has been organised to support Luke Bell, who is the son of 3rd XV Captain Mark (Tank) Bell. Luke has been diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma which is an extremely rare form of cancer affecting less than 100 children a year. Our 1st XV will be involved on the day, with a full list of fixtures and teams involved to be announced shortly. On Saturday 19th August, Mowden Park will host Scottish side Heriot’s in a 2pm kick off at the Arena. The visiting side compete in the BT Scottish Premiership and will provide the first competitive test for the DMP 1st XV ahead of the 2017/18 season. More details on the fixture will be announced in due course.
DMP’s pre-season schedule concludes on Saturday 26th August with a visit to another BT Premiership side in the form of Watsonians. This will be DMP’s last chance to prepare for the season, with the game coming just a week before the season opener against Loughborough on Saturday 2nd September.
