In the 30 degree Arabic sunshine, MP7s kick-started their return to the international sevens circuit against a strong UR7s side.

Despite conceding two early tries (0-10), the lads regrouped well to hit back with two of our own through Argentinian Jimmy MACGAW and Adam RADWAN from close range; both converted by Rory STEEL (14-10). After a long passage of play, with possession exchanging a number of times, UR7s managed to dot down in what turned out to be the last action of the game (15-14 FT).

The boys cooled off in the pool, re-hydrated and set their minds on their next game against Scottish side ProjectX Waterboys. In what will could turn out to be the group decider, MP7s again got off to a slow start taking a little bit of time to get to know each other in defence conceding early points. Finding ourselves 19-5 down at half time, it was backs against the walls time. After a spirited half time team talk from head coach Newton, MP7s came out all guns firing and the Argentinian trio of BRAVO, McGAW jr and double try scorer Tommy McGAW were instrumental in the fight back. An individual chip and chase effort was perfectly executed by young flier RADWAN followed by a charge down the short side from Callum MACKENZIE completed the MP7s second half comeback (24-19 FT).

With one more group game to play today against Russian side Narvskaya Zastava (kick off 1pm UK), all is very much to play for in the 'cup' competition.
