Darlington Mowden Park have today announced the re-signing of utility back Joel Gill. He becomes the 17th player to sign up for the 17/18 National One season, as the Darlington side look to build a strong squad for their promotion push. DMP coach Garry Law was thrilled to be keeping the versatile back: “It’s good to have Joel stay for another season. He’s been ever-present this season, whether on the wing or in the centres, and has been a consistent performer throughout. We’re looking forward to next season where competition is going to be fierce for every position.”

Gill proved himself as a key member of the Mowden squad in 2016/17, his 26 league appearances bettered only by club captain Chris Auld and fellow centre Ben Frankland. The 26 year-old joined the club from Rotherham Titans in 2016, after spells with Otley and Wharfedale. Following a successful first season with the club, Gill was excited by DMP’s prospects going forward: “I’m looking forward to next season as the club has managed to resign a lot of this year’s squad. I can’t wait to get started and get stuck into next season.”
