Mowden Park and Newcastle Falcons forward Joe Craggs rounded off his International debut with a hard fought victory against a strong France U18s.

Coming off the bench 10 minutes into the second half, Craggs made the most of the opportunity to represent his country at Doncaster Rugby Club’s Castle Park last Sunday, helping his team see off their French counterparts 21-5.

Despite a close run first half in difficult conditions, England made the most of the
chances the French gave them. Two unanswered second half tries and strong defence gave their opponents little change to stage a comeback.

Coming through the Mowden age grades Joe has been a key and consistent performer for Mowden Park, Gosforth Academy and the Newcastle Falcons and was rightly given his shot on the International stage with England U18s. Often recognised as a critical part in the RFU progression pathway many of the current England EPS squad, can be seen to have U18 Honours next to their name.

Speaking on his recent debut and rugby career Craggs commented “As a player you are continually working to better yourself and see how far you can go. To be acknowledged at all levels in rugby is a trill but to making my international debut for the U18s was an honour I won’t forget.”

“I’m very grateful to teams and clubs for their constant support It shows my rugby is heading in the right direction and I can only hope to keep improving.”

With a couple weeks off Joe aims to be in contention when the team lines up in their next fixture against Scotland U18s on the 8th March at Kingston Park.
