A look ahead to Saturday's visit to Billesley Common as DMP look to continue their unbeaten league run.

Formed in 1873 as Havelock Football Club before a year later renaming as Birmingham Moseley, Saturday's hosts will be a tough test for the travelling Mowden Park. They have had several Internationals including England captain James Byrne, the first player to top 100 points (England 13 caps, British Isles, 4 Caps) and Scottish Flanker Ian Smith (25 caps, 1992-1997).

This season see’s Moseley in their second consecutive season in National One after being relegated from the Championship. Last season, Moseley finished in 5th position with 98 points, 5 places above Mowden Park. James Williams was their top point scorer with 226 points and Ed Sheldon was top try scorer with 18 tries.

The home fixture for DMPRFC resulted in a defeat in a close encounter with Moseley running out 15-7 winners. However, the trip on the road saw DMPRFC comeback from a 19-0 down after 50 minutes to win 21-19.

This weekend’s opponents have started the season with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss. The opening fixture saw Moseley draw 21-21 at home against Ampthill & District. They then made the short trip to Coventry, losing 50-11. Last week they got their first win of the season, comfortably beating Hull Ionians 38-24.
