A sell-out crowd flocked to the Northern Echo Arena to enjoy the inaugural Aldi Darlington Fireworks Spectacular.

3,500 people filled the stands at the Northern Echo Arena on Sunday to see the return of a large scale fireworks display to Darlington. The two hour show included performances from fire breathers and dancers as well as a variety of musicians, before a 15 minute display wowed the awaiting crowd. It was a perfect evening for fireworks, with a full moon appearing above the roofs of the stands.

The event, hosted by TFM Radio, kicked off with fire breathers and dancers who started an action packed evening of entertainment. Local boyband UnScripted opened the stage show, followed by fellow local musicians J Page, Liv'N'G and Courtney Hadwin. The sell out crowd were able to enjoy the action from the comfort of their seats in what was a safe, family friendly display. The fireworks themselves drew gasps and applause from the expectant crowd, lighting up the sky above the large stage.

We hope this will become an annual event for many years to come. Thank you to everyone who attended and those who have have provided feedback on the event. We hope to be back next year with a bigger and better event, adapting to the feedback we hear from those who attended this year.

The club would like to thank the council and local authorities for their help in delivering a safe, family friendly display. A big thanks also to TFM Radio and event sponsors Aldi & Vasstech for their support in putting on this first year event.
