Mowden's young 2nd team again excelled in a dominant performance against a strong Percy Park outfit, triumphing 34 - 10.

Within five minutes they were on the scoreboard, as a great chase by right winger, Mark Harsley, was rewarded with a try for supporting fullback, Mike Wood, and they rarely looked back from there.
Wave upon wave of Mowden pressure kept the visitors trapped deep in their own 22, and it was clear the next try wouldn’t be long in coming. When it came, five minutes later, it was via young lock, Seb Ferreira, who dotted down at the side of a textbook driving maul to increase his side’s lead to 10 – 0.
Still the home side showed no signs of letting up, and although Percy Park defended bravely for the next ten minutes, they had no answer when scrum half, Max Connon, took a quick tap-penalty, allowing No.8, Joe Craggs, to crash over from eight metres.

Max Connon added the conversion, and the game was as good as won at 27 – 5. To their credit, Percy Park continued to make a fight of it, and when a kick ahead pushed the home defence back into their 22, the visitors’ winger was on hand to pick off a misplaced pass to score in the corner, making it 27 – 10. The home side was determined not to let the away team have the last word, and they again laid siege to their line, culminating in a try from skipper, Tom Harrison, who stormed through the home defence on the end of a short pass from Connon. Connon again obliged with the easy extras, and Mowden led 34 – 10 with ten minutes left. Both sides continued to strive for more, without success, though the home side were within one pass of adding to their score on the final whistle. In the end, 34 – 10 was probably a fair reflection of a game the home side dominated, but the visitors played a full part in
