Mowden Park have re-signed 7 more players from the current 1st XV squad.

Matt Heaton, Ollie Hodgson, Dave Fisher, Alfie Barron, Maia Gibbs, Ralph Appleby and Ignas Darkintis all join the ranks next season. Mowden have now managed to re-sign 13 1st XV players for next season.

Canadian Player of the Year, Matt Heaton, will miss the first phase of the season as he will be away playing a key role for Canada as they endeavor to reach the 2019 World Cup in Japan. When Heaton returns from Canada duty it will be his third successive season with the club.

Current 1st XV captain, Ollie Hodgson also puts pen to paper for the 2018/19 campaign. The number 8 will be going into his 5th season with Mowden since joining at the age of 18. He has featured 23 times out of a possible 25, tallied 4 tries and picked up 4 Man of the Match's so far this year.

A regular in the 6 shirt, Dave Fisher joins fellow back rowers to stay at the club. The physical South African will look to continue his dominant displays in the 2018/19 season. Fisher joined DMP two seasons ago and has featured in all 25 fixtures for Mowden this season.

Mowden continue to bolster their pack by re-signing 3 front rowers; Ralph Appleby, Alfie Barron and Ignas Darkitnis. Appleby and Barron have featured heavily in the 1st XV this season and have been key players for the team. Ralph will be enjoying his 10th season with the club, after seeing the club climb from National 3 North to National 1. It will be Barron's 2nd season after joining from Hartpury last season and having a taste of promotion from National 1 to the Championship. The Lithuanian international will be going into his 4th season with Mowden and will be wanting to feature more regularly next season.

Finally, kiwi scrum half, Maia Gibbs has added his play making ability to the squad next season. Recently fit again, Gibbs has dotted down twice in the last two games he has featured in. This will be Maia's 3rd term with the club and with his experience of playing in the Mitre 10 cup and Canterbury Crusaders will help Mowden.

You can see these players in action tomorrow at the Arena. Mowden 1st XV take on Esher RFC at 2pm as we look to remain in 2nd place for Easter. Tickets are priced at £10 for Adults, £8 Concessions and as always U16s go FREE.
