Darlington Mowden Park are happy to announce that Rob Conquest (second row) and Ollie Hodgson (Back Row) have re-signed for the 2015/16 season.

Having joined us from Cambridge last year, Rob has been in impressive form this season, making 24 1st XV appearances since September. With a history featuring the Leicester Tigers Academy, it is no wonder his form has seen him score four tries from his place in the second row.

A former Newcastle Falcons academy player, Ollie has spent a lot of the second half of this season watching from the sideline. Having broken his hand in the 53-19 away win against Tyndale back in November, his blistering form that saw him score four tries in his first five appearances of this season was put on pause. However, he was back in time to feature in the unfortunate loss against Rosslyn Park back in March and hopes to finish off the season in a little more style.

Rob said: “It’s great to be staying at Mowden another year, and get the chance to build on our performances from this season.”

“We’ve done well following the promotion, so now it’s time to push forward and see if we can’t end up further up the table next season.”

As the 2014/15 season comes to an end, Mowden Park looks towards next year and their second season in National League One.

Ollie commented: “We know we’re staying up so it’s great to stay on board and really see what we can do in the league next season. We continue to build and improve week on week and are sitting in a very strong place in the league.”

“We’ve been close a number of times this year so next year we’ll try and turn those games around.”

Director of rugby Danny Brown is pleased at both players’ decision to stay on board with the club.

“Both Rob and Ollie have been great for us this season, and I’m very happy to see them stay signed on with us. This season has been a great learning curve for both the players and the coaches and to finish the season mid table is a great achievement.”

“Our aim was to stay in National League One, and not only have we achieved that but we’ve also established a strong squad. These guys are both a great part of that and we are looking forward to developing that over the coming years.”
